[MUSIC] LOU PHELPS LINKS KAYTRANADA FOR FRENETIC YOUTH ANTHEM ‘WANT TO’ & GLITCHY MUSIC VIDEO

Montreal’s Lou Phelps is following up the release of the Juno Award nominated 001: Experiments with a new release slated for 2018. Following the success of single, “Come Inside,” the smooth Kaytranada-produced jam featuring Toronto’s Jazz CartierLou returns with a second Kaytra-produced record, “Want To (For The Youth).”

“Want To” is a hard-hitting, glitchy track that is reminiscent of the work Lou and Kaytra have done in the past as The Celestics. That said, it’s a bit more abrasive than their earlier work, and in a way more experimental than some of Kaytra’s more recent sonic work. Lou sounds at home over the haunting production, as he flexes his lyrical chops. The Pique-directed video mirrors the staccato, frenzied nature of the video.
