[MUSIC] LOUIS VI RELEASES VISUAL FOR NEW SONG ‘CONFIDENCE’ FEATURING JAZZ VIRTUOSO NUBYA GARCIA

Louis VI has dropped a mesmerising video to his newest song ‘Confidence’ featuring the masterful jazz artist Nubya Garcia. Watch HERE. The stunning, Gerssis David directed visual, shows Louis VI dancing on a rooftop against the backdrop of a New York City sunset, perfectly conveying the delicate and yet empowered nature of the track.

“Gerssis David and I shot this (video) in Brooklyn spontaneously. The sky was crazy that night and we just climbed on a roof and shot. We didn’t know what was going to come of it or what it would look like but it fit so well with the vibe of the track.” Louis VI

Confidence’ comes just weeks after the release of Louis VI’s self-produced “Jazz Got Me” featuring Mick Jenkins. Listen HERE. The vibe of the song is heavily  Jazz  infused  but  beautifully  melted  with  a  tempo  more  akin  to  trap  &  grime.  The  combination  of  the  double  bass,  live  trumpet  &  trappy  drums  create  an  infectious  energy  making  the  track  something  musically  never  heard  before.

Louis VI, one half of hip-hop group OthaSoul and a born and raised Londoner. Raised by his mum, she introduced him to De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest at an early age and making him listen to Gil-Scott Heron. Writing lyrics came naturally, and he was soon having to steal blank school ledger books to store all his bars. He also fell in love with producing after at the age of 14 he used a fake ID to get a free summer course for beginner producers at the London School of Sound. He went on to teach himself to play multiple musical instruments, ranging from trumpet to keys and jazz drums, all of which influenced his rapping technique and production style. More recently after going through depression, he purposefully started being brutally honest with his music and not shying away from vulnerability after hearing Isaiah Rashad‘s Cilvia Demo.
