Kangol x Steady Levels celebrate Annual Record Store Day 2018.
To commemorate the 11th annual Record Store Day in the UK, headwear champions Kangol and London music collective Steady Levels were the hosts of the packed out event yesterday at vintage fashion emporium Dukes Cupboard, Soho.
The commemoratory event turned street party was without a doubt the place to be in London yesterday to mark the special occasion of Record Store Day 2018. Exclusive merchandise was harmoniously put together in a limited 100 piece collaboration with Kangol x Steady Levels. The collaboration saw Steady Levels take their approach on Kangol’s infamous headwear classic, the ‘Bermuda Casual‘ hat, and a graphic celebratory t-shirt, featuring a recognisable graphic print of master Slick Rick. The nostalgic hats were seen surfing on heads in a crowded wave of people that packed out the entire space of Greens court throughout the majority of the day. Soho regulars Leo Mandella, Jake Hartwell, Cosmo Webber and Tyrone Estrella were seen donning the collaboration alongside Ryan Hawaii, Omelet Yoke, and the fixed number of people who managed to cop the goods whilst the stock lasted.
Running the exclusive line of merchandise wasn’t the only way to pay homage to Record Store Day, The event included an outright day’s line up of live performances from the UK’s thriving music culture, consisting of sounds from Novelist, Daniel OG, DJ Oneman, Martelo, JD Reid, Hudnall, and Motive. Yesterday’s celebrations led Kangol x Steady Levels to host an after-party at the Curtain Hotel, Shoreditch which saw Lewisham legend and previous Viper cover star Novelist perform a 30 minute set next to Daniel OG and DJ Oneman.
