KWALEO LAB IS THE BRAND DOING THE MOST
It’d be wrong to announce an addition to the ones to watch series by introducing Kwaleö as just a streetwear brand. On that note despite Kwaleö drawing everyone’s attention by creating a distinctive “sleek” backpack that has a silhouette of a bulletproof vest made from black neoprene and nylon with attractive branding in the upper centre. Kwaleö is in fact, a lifestyle brand selling unisex and functional products with keeping up clean cut streetwear aesthetics.
The 3-year-old combined function orientated streetwear brand challenges innovation, creativity and lifestyle with an encouraging open-mind from a London pinpoint perspective. So who’s behind this complexed and multi-talented brand? When I had the chance to meet founders and entrepreneurs Laurent Antoine-Faboumy and Stuart Megarry in the restaurant of the Ace Hotel, the sharp and innovative pair emphasise the matter that when purchasing with Kwaleö in regards to all their services, the consumer is purchasing from an Independent brand, artists and designers. Staying true to their down to earth core, Laurent and Stuart explained to me that the original name of Kwaleö translates “Seize the day” in Swahili.
