NEEDLES X AWGE 2018 RELEASE DEBUT LOOKBOOK
The infamous tracksuit brand that has swarmed Instagram fashion accounts have collaborated with prestigious creative mob AWGE on a special release of tracksuits modelled by A$AP Rocky himself.
The Japanese brand named ‘Needles’ that seemed to have come out of nowhere to belonging in the wardrobes of fashion’s thousands of influencers. The earthy streetwear label creatively paired ideas with members of AWGE to create a ‘Special’ reworked drop of iconic Needles Tracksuits. To what may come as a surprise, Needles has been established for over 20 years and was founded by Keizo Shimizu way back in 1997. Shimizu launched his first ever ‘Needles’ line with only one piece to show, the aesthetically appealing and familiar loosely-fitting track jacket and was initially made to mirror a style of jacket worn by Miles Davis in the 1960’s. Needles after a long time being in plain sight of fashion-conscious trendsetters like Playboi Carti, A$AP Rocky and Ian Connor that are from the creative AWGE team, such a collaboration between the two would usually be heard as nothing more than talk. Not this time.
The collaboration that was previously leaked on A$AP Rocky’s Instagram earlier this year has been released in a debut lookbook by Needles and AWGE. The lookbook delivered playful teenagers lurking the streets of New York, group portraits and the Lord Pretty Flacko himself rocking the new collaboration with effortless style. The refreshing lookbook displayed the clean AWGE x Needles Tracksuits paired with the brands widely sought after ribbon pleated flannel shirts and Greedy Genius sneakers to finish. Pieces for sale from the combined collection included the Track Jacket Poly Smooth with the equally recognisable and matching Track Pant Poly Smooth which is unveiled in three enticing colourways. A Green, blue and Pink colour palette work together to create a striking, reinvented Needles track two-piece.
