Red Bull Studios announce photography and lifestyle brand Places+Faces will curate the latest mixtape in their collaborative series.

Featuring drill crew 67, Numbers’ Darq E Freaker, hip-hop-come-spoken word hybrid Kojey Radical, Funkystepz’ Scrufizzer, Northampton’s gritty wordsmith Slowthai and more, the release (find the full track-list and listen to an exclusive track from the mixtape below) will drop on Thursday 8th June followed by a launch party that evening at Studio Spaces London.

Names from the track listing will also appear on the nighttime billing, including AUX GOD, Benny Mails, Cravemoore, Daniel OG, Danny Seth, Fredwave, Kasien, Ragz and Wonder, amongst many others. £10 tickets are on sale now via Dice.

A pop-up shop in Soho, a brand new range of Places+Faces merchandise as well as yet to be announced, one-off performances also form part of this latest collaboration.

Counting the likes of Kanye West and Lil Yachty as subjects, Places+Faces are unlike any other photographers around right now, both observing and integrating within the scene they capture. It’s friends rather than affiliates they’ve invited to Red Bull Studios to record the tape.

“This tape definitely reflects the sounds of London 2017” Ciesay of Places+Faces says, noting the UK has given way to another style of music which isn’t just Grime or Drill, “it’s our own sound.”

The mixtape and party mark a new chapter for Places+Faces’ Ciesay and Soulz. Having just published their first print magazine, the duo will also launch a brand new imprint ‘Places+Faces Sound’ releasing music-related projects along with parties in locations across the globe.

They’ve also announced a pop-up in London’s Soho, opening on June 8th on Berwick Street. You can catch a first glimpse at the new collection of merch (peep the lookbook in our gallery), nab some freebies and check out the accompanying exhibition. The store will be open from 12-6pm on June 8th and 9th.
