Back with bang and sizzling hot off the success of last year’s 21st birthday relaunch, BABY-G returns with volume two of the cult classic, collectible, more refined Pretty Tough Zine. To celebrate the brand’s milestone birthday, BABY-G launched the first issue in Summer 2015, profiling a gang of the country’s most exciting creatives who embody the ‘Pretty Tough Girl’ ethos. This year BABY-G looks forward to shining the spotlight on eleven new female powerhouses, with a fresh, coming- of-age take on the brand’s inimitable personality. Lending their editorial skills to bring Issue 2 to life are first generation #PrettyToughGirls, BabyFace – the all-girl creative agency championing women in their industry and providing them with a platform to connect and collaborate together.
For the second instalment of the BABY-G publication, some of the most exciting talents in the UK have come together to celebrate female solidarity and friendship, and what it means to be ‘Pretty Tough’. From athletes to artists, from beauty moguls to bloggers, each have been handpicked for their professional prowess. Featuring the likes of thought-leading womenswear designers Charlotte Simone and Clio Peppiatt, super chic chefs The Meringue Girls, encapsulating what it means to be a ‘Pretty Tough Girl’- synonymous with BABY-G’s ethos of fierce creativity, individuality and originality.
From cover to cover, Issue 2 has been curated with unique content. With Francesca Jane Allen who featured in Zine Issue 1 contributing to the cover and editorial imagery, and newly-instated portrait photographer Lily Bertand-Webb capturing her fellow ‘Pretty Tough Girls’ in all their glory, the BABY- G girl gang has come out in force to support the campaign in its second year.
